Bessie Connell

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Bessie M. Connell, 77, of Godfrey, Ill., formerly of Mounds, died Thursday, June 6, 2002, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton, Ill.

She was born July 10, 1924, in Mounds, daughter of Paul and Ella Murphy Coleman. She married William V. Connell, who died in 1985.

Survivors include four sons, Rod Connell of Hardin, Ill., Michael Connell of Belleville, Ill., Patrick Connell of Kampsville, Ill., Stephen Connell of Alton; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery.
