Name of tractor rollover victim released

Cape Girardeau County coroner John Clifton has released the name of a Jackson man who died in a tractor rollover accident Monday evening.
Richard Laird was operating a tractor on Monday when he backed into a deep ravine, causing the tractor to overturn and pinning him under the tractor. Emergency personnel from the Jackson Police Department and the Jackson and Cape Girardeau fire departments responded to the call around 6:30 p.m. at Laird's farm on Greensferry Road in Jackson.
Clifton pronounced Laird dead at the scene at 6:56 p.m.
