PACIFIC, Mo. -- Ron E. Eakins, 56, of Pacific died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008.

He was born Nov. 21, 1951, at Cape Girardeau, son of Carl and Dorothy Boggess Eakins.

Eakins served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Vietnam veteran.

Survivors include a son, Eric Eakins of Cape Girardeau; his mother; a brother, Steven Eakins of San Diego; a sister, Sheri Mott of Pacific; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Visitation and funeral were Sept. 30 at Bell Funeral Home in Pacific. Interment with full military honors was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
