Can we view archived stories?
Many stories from after September 2001 can be viewed using the online search tool found on the top of the online semissourian.com navigation bar. When is content updated online?
News and information are added to semissourian.com online throughout the day. Most stories that appear in the next day's newspaper are uploaded at 12 midnight or before. Breaking news appears as it is reported, and Associated Press stories are updated real time.

How do I send a letter to the editor?
Follow this link for an online form. In addition, most stories on the website contain a "Send Editor Comment" button that allows you to respond to a particular story.

How do I submit an obituary notice?
Contact the funeral home in charge of the funeral and have them send us the information by fax. We do not accept obituaries by e-mail because verifying factual data is difficult. Contact Sandy Riehn at (573) 335-6611 ext. 135 if you have any questions.

How do I order a newspaper subscription?
Please call the Circulation department at (800) 444-4812 or use our online subscription form.

What are the delivery times?
For most people in Cape Girardeau County, the paper will be delivered by 5:30 A.M. on Monday through Saturday, and by 6:00 AM on Sunday. If you live outside Cape County, regular delivery may be a little later.

What happens if home delivery is not available in my area?
The number of areas that receive home delivery is increasing. However, there may be areas where home delivery service is not available at this time. In that instance, we will offer you home delivery by mail so you can still receive all the local news and views that only the Southeast Missourian provides.

The lead time to start delivery on new orders begin 3 days or less after the order request is received.

Delivery By Mail

What is the delivery time for receiving the Southeast Missourian via the U.S. Postal Service?
Delivery can take from one to eight days domestically, depending on the proximity to Cape Girardeau. Orders outside the United States can take from one to twelve weeks.

Why does mail subscription cost more than home delivery?
Mail subscription rates include costs for postage and for preparing the newspaper for postal service delivery.

Any mail subscription request including a new subscription, change of address or other customer care request can take as little as three days to be executed.
